Square the Circles ("STC") aims to change the advising paradigm. Our mission is to help students reach their highest potential by finding their voices and building confidence. They stand out in an authentic way.

STC was founded by Michelle Lewis, following a successful career in law and Wall Street. She has worked with more than 300 students on test prep, college consulting, interview and essay prep for college and college programs. Michelle loves connecting with students to help them explore their passions and craft powerful narratives, but also develop life skills that will help them long beyond college, including resume building and interview strategy.

 

Michelle has a commitment to excellence. Her prior work experience at top companies infuses her work with a sense of professionalism and purpose -- whether it is recommending the perfect organization to pair a student's interests with a community need, or helping them learn how their small actions can make a big impact.

She has successfully navigated the college process with her own children and realizes that this process can be quite stressful due to the purposeful lack of transparency in this process.  STC prides itself on its integrity, transparency, and candor.  We treat our students' families the way we wish to be treated -- ALWAYS accessible, responsive and respectful of your child. And clients appreciate this: many are repeat customers.

Michelle graduated Amherst College, earned her law degree from New York University and worked at McKinsey, Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. 

 

Square the Circles works with all types of students -- overachievers, athletes with busy schedules, and those who may need special learning tools or motivation. We have worked with students from NYC private and public schools, New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, Louisiana, and California.
